How long have you been in business?
Acadiana Center was formed in 2002.
What is your primary product or service?
We provide a wide range of occupational medicine services and exams including physical exams, OSHA surveillance, drug and alcohol testing, (MRO) medical review officers, DOT-FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier, USCG (Merchant Marine), Crane Operator certificates and renewals, commercial dive exams per ADCI, DMAC and IMCA standards. We also provide food handler clearance, school physicals, international travel exams, return-to-work and fit-for-duty exams.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
Orthopedics and occupational medicine work well together. Having and orthopedist onsite for orthopedic clearance saves time and money in getting workers back to work. Our orthopedists and occupational medicine providers regularly collaborate with one another when formulating diagnoses and treatment plans, ensuring our patients receive the best and most effective treatment for their condition.
Dr. Gregory Gidman is the owner of Acadiana Center for Orthopedic and Occupational Medicine. He is a 1973 graduate of LSU Medical School and a 1978 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh Orthopedic Program. He completed two fellowships in hand surgery with Dr. Dan Riordan and Dr. Robert Horner. Dr. Gidman is a Certified Independent Medical Examiner by the American Board of Independent Medical Examiners since 1996. He is also a fellow in the American Academy of Disability Evaluating Physicians and the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery. He is also a member of the Louisiana Orthopedic Association, the Louisiana State Medical Society and the Lafayette Parish Medical Society.

Our board-certified providers take time with each patient and draw upon their knowledge and experience to establish effective treatment plans. Our providers regularly collaborate with one another when formulating diagnoses and treatment plans, ensuring our patients receive the best and most effective treatment for their condition.

We presently have one location in Lafayette.
